The common edge tool from Osborne easily bevels and rounds off edges of strap and all soft leather. The wider angled blade allows for more control over how much leather is removed. Comes with a polished, American hardwood maple handle with a brass ferrule.

Hey Frank! The best size of edger doesn’t depend on the weight of the leather, but how much you want to shave off the corners. Bigger sizes will yield more cut. Generally for thicker leather though, you want to have a larger size, such as a 3, 4 or 5.

This #3 edger is very sharp and work nicely on 13oz leather.
